Ayat Promosi Kedai Makan: Promo Copy That Actually Brings People In
Short answer
Promo copy usually fails because it says there is an offer without saying what the offer is or when it ends. A line that brings people in answers three things: what you sell, what the deal is, and the date it stops. Miss one and nobody moves.
Who this is for
Restaurants, mamak stalls and small eateries in Malaysia and Singapore that need promo lines in Malay, or in a mix of Malay, English and Chinese.
Steps
- Write the three things first: what you sell, what the deal is, the end date. Do not start from wording.
- Put the most concrete thing in the first line. "Nasi lemak RM5 sampai Jumaat" beats "Promosi hebat!"
- Add one action: how to buy, where, whether to order ahead. Copy with no action is just an announcement.
- If you need more than one language, make one version per language. Do not squeeze two languages onto one image — neither reads well.
- Keep it. The same three things can be reused next time with a new date.
Example output
"Set lunch ayam penyet RM12, sampai 3 petang, hari ini sahaja." What, how much, until when, today only — all in one line.
Weak line vs strong line
| Weak | Strong | What changed |
|---|---|---|
| Promosi hebat minggu ini! | Nasi lemak RM5, sampai Jumaat | Says what and until when |
| Special price for you | Teh tarik + roti canai RM4.50, 7–10 pagi | Says the price and the hours |
| Come and try our new menu | Mee bandung baru, RM9, mula hari ini | Names the dish and the start date |
| Limited time only | Hanya 50 set sehari, habis tutup | Gives a real limit, not a vague one |
Ready-to-adapt lines for different shops
- **Mamak stall:** "Roti canai + teh tarik RM4.50, setiap pagi sampai 10. Makan sini atau bungkus."
- **Café:** "Iced latte 2 for RM18, Isnin hingga Rabu, 2–5 petang."
- **Bakery:** "Kek pandan RM25 sebiji. Tempah sebelum Khamis, ambil Sabtu."
- **Hawker stall:** "Char kuey teow RM7, hari ini sahaja tambah telur percuma."
Change the item, price and date to your own. Keep the order: what, how much, until when, how to get it.
A quick check before you post
- Is the item named, not just "promosi"?
- Is there a price or a clear deal?
- Is there an end date or time window?
- Does the reader know how to get it: walk in, order ahead, or WhatsApp?
- If it is in more than one language, does each version say the same thing?

FAQ
My Malay is not strong.
Write the three things in whichever language you are best at and let the system produce the rest.
How often should I run promo copy?
Only when there is a real offer. Fake urgency wears off fast.
Do I have to put the price?
