Customer Question Poster Process for Local Businesses

Short answer

Learn how restaurants, salons, and local services can turn repeated customer questions into reusable posters and FAQ cards.

Target industry

Restaurants, cafes, takeaway shops, bakeries, and other local businesses that answer the same menu or offer questions.

Steps

  1. Copy one customer question exactly as staff hear it.
  2. Verify the item, price, portion, inclusion, and any date or availability condition.
  3. Choose one visible proof point, such as the dish, package components, or a process detail.
  4. Explain the answer in one clear hierarchy instead of adding unrelated claims.
  5. Reuse the approved facts as a poster, 15-second video direction, or multilingual FAQ.

Where to find the questions

You do not need a survey. The questions are already in places you look at every day:

  1. WhatsApp chats: search for "how much", "got", "can", "open" and "where". The same few questions come up again and again.
  2. The counter: ask staff to write down any question they answer more than three times in a day, word for word.
  3. Reviews: look for sentences that start with "I wish they had told me" or "I didn't know".
  4. Delivery apps and Google Maps: customer questions on your listing are often the same ones asked in the shop.

Pick the question you heard most this week. That is the first poster.

A worked example

The shop and details below are an example layout, not a real shop's menu.

Question as heard: "Does the set lunch come with a drink?"

Checked facts: which sets include a drink, which drinks can be chosen, whether iced drinks cost extra, and the hours the set is served.

Proof point: a photo of the set with the drink on the tray.

Poster headline: "Set lunch comes with a hot drink"

Second line: "Iced drink: add a small top-up · Served 11am to 2pm"

The poster answers the question before it is asked, and the same facts can go into a 15-second video that shows the tray being put down, or a short FAQ card in English and Chinese for the counter.

Questions that make good posters, by trade

  • Food and drink: what comes with the set, spice level, halal or no pork, portion size, takeaway packing charge.
  • Salons and nail studios: how long it takes, what is included, how to book, what to do before coming.
  • Repairs and services: how long the repair takes, whether parts are original, warranty, whether you need to leave the item.
  • Tuition and classes: class size, trial lesson, what the student needs to bring, how progress is shared with parents.

Before you print

  1. The answer matches what staff actually say at the counter.
  2. Every price, time and condition is checked against today's menu or service list.
  3. One question per poster; if the answer needs more than five short lines, split it.
  4. If you print two languages, someone who speaks each language reads it once.
