Should the Price Go in the Video?

Show the price if you want someone today; leave it out if you want recognition first. Mention it once, at the end, with what it includes. One clip, one ask.

Should the Price Go in the Video?

Short answer

It depends on the action you want. If you want someone to come today, show the price. If you want them to get to know you first, leave it out. When it does appear, show it once, at the end, after the thing itself is clear.

Who this is for

For shops with a wide price range in Singapore and Malaysia: food, beauty, repairs, wellness, car care, pet services, tutoring, and anyone who quotes per task.

Steps

  1. Decide what the clip should make someone do: come in today, message you, or simply remember what you do.
  2. If you want them today, show the price — and say what it includes and excludes.
  3. If you only want recognition, leave money out entirely and show how you work.
  4. Mention price once, in the last line. Do not tease it earlier or repeat it.
  5. Before posting, check: would a stranger know what to do next?

Example output

The same service supports two clips: one shows only the work and never mentions money, ending with "come and take a look"; the other states the price and what it covers in the final line, ending with "walk in today". They are for two different people.

A quick way to decide

What you want the viewer to doShow the price? How the clip ends
Come in today or this weekYes, once, at the end"Walk in today" plus the hours
Message you for a quoteNo, show the range of work instead"Send us a photo for a quote"
Remember what you doNo"Come and take a look"
Book a set or packageYes, with what is included"Book before [date]"

How to show a price without looking cheap

  • Say what the price includes: "[price] for a wash, cut and blow-dry" reads very differently from a bare number.
  • Add the unit: per person, per hour, per kilo, per set.
  • Add the condition if there is one: until a date, weekdays only, first visit only.
  • Keep it short on screen: one row of text, big enough to read on a phone.

Examples by shop type

These are layouts, not real prices. Put your own numbers in the brackets.

  • Café: "Set lunch [price]: rice, main and a drink, weekdays until 3pm."
  • Salon: "[price] for a first-visit cut, wash and blow-dry included."
  • Phone repair: "Screen replacement from [price], same day if dropped off before [time]."
  • Tuition: "Trial class [price], one session, no package needed."

Common mistakes

  • Teasing the price at the start, then making people wait for it. They leave before it arrives.
  • Showing three different prices in one clip. Nobody remembers any of them.
  • A price with no "what is included". It invites the question "why so expensive?"
  • Different prices in the video and on the poster. Check both say the same thing.

What ThinkNova does

Pick your industry, fill in what you sell (or upload photos), choose the output language, and ThinkNova writes the script and makes a 15-second vertical video or a poster. You check the price and wording before you post; no sales results are promised.

FAQ

Doesn't leaving the price out waste reach?

No. Someone who finishes without knowing the price will ask, and that is a conversation. The real loss is not knowing what you do.

Will showing prices make me look cheap?

The number is not the issue; not saying what it includes is. A bare figure is what reads cheap.

Can I say "DM for a quote"?

Yes, but that is a different action. Do not mix it with "come in" in one clip; one clip, one ask.

Can I repeat the offer?

Once is enough. Repeating it inside one clip buries the thing you wanted remembered.

What if my prices change often?

Then write "from [price]" and the date, or leave the price out and show the work instead. A wrong price on a video that keeps circulating causes more trouble than no price.

Should the poster and the video say the same price?

Yes. People often see both. If they differ, the first question you get will be about the difference, not the product.
